Alaska Dog Mushing & Ice Road Tour

Dogs and puppies galore! Enjoy an epic ride from a musher’s sled pulled by a team of trained sled dogs on a trail across small lakes and muskegs. On a clear day you can enjoy sights of Mt. Susitna and Denali. Interaction with the canine athletes is encouraged both before and after the ride!

Your local Alaskan guide will pick you up at your Anchorage hotel and bring you 50 miles north of Anchorage and introduce you to the rural community of Big Lake. The unique thing about this small town is many of the residents live on islands or on the opposite shore of Big Lake, and depend on boats for transportation during the summer and ice roads during the winter. Explore the frozen road system by van of the largest lake in the area, as well as the adjoining Mirror lake and Flat lake, and learn about the varied lifestyles of the people living in this beautiful corner of Alaska.

Afterward, enjoy a complimentary meal at the local bar & grill “The Islander”, located on an atmospheric island in the middle of Big lake.
