This full day 8 hour adventure begins with a pickup at your Anchorage location and a scenic drive along Turnagain arm with photo stops and potential wildlife viewing with your long-time Alaskan guide. Then hit the trail with a hike through the Kenai Peninsula coastal temperate rainforest to get to Wild Journeys’ exclusive gold prospecting claim! Learn about gold processes and the huge impact it made locally in the early 1900’s, then try your hand at prospecting and keep anything you find! This is an actual mining claim and real finds are not uncommon. Enjoy a picnic lunch and finish the day with a pleasant bike ride along a scenic whitewater river with vibrant flora along the path. The trail is mostly downhill and finishes with a scenic bridge crossing over a huge canyon, making it great activity to end the day with!
