Do you have gold fever? South of Anchorage, Hope-Sunrise is one of Alaska’s first major hot spots for gold. In the 1890’s, Sunrise was considered one of the largest cities in Alaska. This area is not far from the very first discovery of gold in Alaska by the Russians in 1849. Alaska ATV Adventures has a private claim on the East Fork, near Hope, and would like to share this authentic mining adventure with your guests.

This gold mining experience allows guest`s exclusive use of our gold mine claim. This activity has been designed to be suitable for visitors of all ages.  The day begins with an amazing drive along one of the most scenic byways in America. The Turnagain Arm has stunning views of the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet. On your drive, you’ll want to keep an eye out for Dall Sheep and Beluga Whales which are often sited on this beautiful drive south. There is even a chance to see bear and moose due to the wide expanse of meadows on both sides of the road as you round the Turnagain Arm just about 10 miles from where you’re mining experience begins! Your guide will give our new miners their gold panning orientation, provide panning training and all the equipment needed for an exciting mining adventure. Have no fear you will reap the rewards of your efforts!

Everyone on the tour will be able to share the stories of their “True Alaskan Experience” and have the gold to prove it!
